Michelin North America Inc. raised $250,000 for the Special Olympics thanks to its bobblehead dolls.
Michelin raised money through the sale and distribution of nearly 100,000 Michelin Man bobblehead dolls. Some of the dolls were sold to consumers online; others were distributed to consumers who purchased new Michelin passenger car or light truck tires through authorized Michelin tire dealers in the United States.
In addition, the Michelin Man's own "private bobblehead collection" was put up for auction. The collection included Mickey Mantle and Dick Tracy bobblehead dolls.
