Continental will supply 2004 F-150 with tires

Continental Tire North America Inc. will supply tires to the Ford Motor Co. for the 2004 F-150 pickup truck.

Continental is supplying Ford with Continental ContiTrac(TM) P255/65R17 tires, General AmeriTrac TR(TM) P255/70R17 tires and General AmeriTrac LT245/70R17 tires. "The F-150 is one of Ford's best-selling vehicles, and we are pleased to help Ford fulfill its product promises with our Continental and General tires," said Andreas Gerstenberger, vice president of Continental's original equipment tire business.

In 2003, Continental accounted for 17.3% of the domestic OE tire market with its General (13.7%) and Continental (3.6%) brands, according to Modern Tire Dealer's 2003 Facts Issue.

General and Continental represent 21% and 13% of Ford's OE tire market share, respectively.
