Toyota Motor Corp. has selected Bridgestone Corp.'s environmentally friendly Ecopia EP25 tire to be standard equipment on its new iQ super compact car.
The iQ was introduced to the Japan market last month and will make its European debut early next year.
Ecopia is Bridgestone's flagship line of eco-friendly tires "that focuses on realizing a reduction in rolling resistance," say Bridgestone officials, who add that the company plans to expand its line of Ecopia tires while pursuing original equipment fitments.
"Supplying the tire as standard equipment on the Toyota iQ is a major step toward making this a reality."
