Nine out of 10 United Steelworkers of America (USWA) locals have approved the tentative three-year labor agreement between the union and Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. with the only hold-out so far being Union City, Tenn.
Voting will close at the end of the day on Friday.
"We'll make an official announcement on Monday, Sept. 15," a USWA spokesman told mtdealer.com this morning.
The union is waiting for the four remaining locals involved in the proposed contract to vote.
Fourteen plants throughout North America are involved in the proposed contract.
"You need (the approval of) eight out of 14 for ratification."
