Kumho supports racing initiatives with new vehicles

June 30, 2003

Kumho Tire U.S.A. Inc.'s new Kenworth T2000 support truck will help promote the Kumho brand at select motorsport events.

Kumho has competed in Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) races since 1993, and Championship Off Road Racing (CORR) events since 2001.

"This new truck and trailer will enable us to better serve our racers and will also service notice that Kumho is committed to these series and to motorsports in general," says Rick Brennan, high performance brand manager.

The truck's 53-foot custom trailer includes tire mounting and balancing equipment, a lounge and meeting area, rooftop observation deck, heating and air conditioning, a generator, two air compressors and a 5,000-pound capacity liftgate. It also has a Digital Satellite System and a flat-screen television with VCR/DVD capability.

The trailer will carry three customized 2003 Mini Coopers, which will be used to conduct ride and drive events for tire dealers, consumers and the media. They will be equipped with 15-, 16- and 17-inch Kumho tires; the lines and sizes will depend on what the company is trying to showcase.

"We want more people to experience the performance of Kumho tires, and we believe that ride and drive events are the best way to do that," says Brennan.
