Cooper Tire promotes three

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. recently announced three promotions.

* Bruce Currie was named senior technical relations manager for the tire group. In his new position, he is responsible for representing Cooper Tire on industry technical and standardization committees for the Tire and Rim Association, Rubber Manufacturers Association, American Society for Testing and Materials, Society of Automotive Engineers, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and other organizations.

Currie, who joined the company in 1967, also will be involved with tire design technical systems, manufacturing and testing equipment on a consulting basis.

* James McAdoo was named price administration manager for the tire group. McAdoo, who has been with the company since 1994, is responsible for the administration of pricing for all channels of distribution: private brands, house brands, associate brands and regional retailers.

* Mark Armbruster was named manager of management education in Cooper's learning center.

In his new position, Armbruster is responsible for identifying the training, development and education needs "of current and future Cooper leaders," according to the company. He also is responsible for designing, developing, implementing and evaluating quality leadership and management curriculum for the company.

He joined Cooper Tire in October 1998 as a production supervisor in the extrusion area. Most recently, Armbruster was operations planner at the company's Findlay, Ohio, headquarters.
