Hankook Tire Manufacturing Co. will be supplying Ford Motor Co. with tires for the F-150.
"Supply to the world's top auto maker should enhance the brand recognition of Hankook Tire in the global market," said Cho Choong-Hwan, Hankook's top executive, in a statement out of South Korea earlier today.
Hankook began supplying S300 high-pressure radial spare tires to Ford in 1999 for the 2000 model year Ford Focus. That contract gave Hankook its first original equipment presence in the United States market.
Hankook Tire America Corp. is expected to release more details on this domestic OE contract with Ford soon.
