Tire Centers continues to expand

May 30, 2003

Tire Centers LLC (TCI) has opened a commercial tire center in Florida and is building a retread plant in Tennessee.

The new TCI Center in West Palm Beach, Fla., is easily accessible from the Florida Turnpike. In addition to multiple tire brands, the commercial outlet offers alignment service and wheel and tire mounting. It also performs light mechanical work for commercial fleets in its three drive-through truck bays.

"Our goal is to provide fleets the services they need, when they need them and in a way that reduces the fleet’s overall costs and improves their ability to serve their customers," says Manager Jay Kernica.

TCI also announced plans to build its latest Michelin Retread Technologies Inc. truck tire retread plant at an existing TCI commercial facility in Antioch, Tenn. The new plant will add more than 30,000 square feet of manufacturing space to the service center.

The facility, scheduled to open in August, will provide Pre-Mold retread tires to fleets and commercial customers throughout central and eastern Tennessee and northern Alabama.

TCI, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Michelin North America Inc., operates 13 Michelin Retread Technologies plants in 11 states.
