Based on growing demand, American Tire Distributors (ATD) is expanding its Xpress Performance distribution program throughout its network and adding new brands to its lineup.
Xpress Performance is a business-to-business high performance tire, wheel and suspension product direct-delivery program. With the additions, Xpress Performance offers 12 performance tire brands and more than 145 wheel styles to fit virtually any vehicle application, says the company.
"The market for ultra-high performance tires, wheels and accessories continues to grow and become a larger portion of the overall market," said Phil Marrett, ATD's senior vice president, sales and marketing.
"Xpress Performance provides a way for our customers to take advantage of this growth without increasing their inventory cost and incurring additional freight charges from their suppliers."
Xpress Performance will add four new wheel brands: Mickey Thompson (one style), Focal (four styles), Arelli (eight styles), and custom built offerings from Boyd Coddington (32 styles).
It will continue to offer other wheels from Sport Metal, BBS, Team Dynamics, Centerline, ADR, O.E. Performance, Dayton, OZ Racing, Edelbrock, ROH, and HRE.
ATD also will add select performance tires from the Pirelli and Mickey Thompson brands to its existing Xpress Performance line-up of ultra-high performance products from Michelin, BFGoodrich, Bridgestone, Firestone, Goodyear, Dunlop, Continental, Toyo, Falken, and Nitto.
As part of its expansion, ATD is releasing its Spring 2003 Xpress Performance catalog to its dealers, and as of April 1, American Tire Distributors began accepting Saturday calls at its Xpress Performance call center to accommodate more dealer questions.
"Selling ultra-high performance tires requires specialized equipment, specialized training and specific technical knowledge of tire and wheel fitments and vehicle applications," said Marrett. "Maintaining a technical advisory staff on Saturday is part of the total package we are offering."
