The Tire Retread Information Bureau will conduct a retread/tire maintenance workshop for the General Services Administration (GSA) Maintenance Control Center in Forest Park, Ga., on June 10, 2003.
GSA is the United States government's purchasing arm for everything except the military, says TRIB Managing Director Harvey Brodsky.
The Forest Park location -- along with three others in Lompoc, Calif., Houston, Texas, and Philadelphia, Pa. -- helps oversee purchasing for GSA.
"These guys have an enormous amount of clout," says Brodsky. "We're trying to change their mindset about retreads."
The TRIB workshop will focus on the environmental benefits of retread tires, plus the importance of proper tire maintenance.
