Jan. 25, 2003

CarParts Technologies Inc. has hired Dan Wecker as senior vice president of sales.

"With 40% year-on-year growth in 2002, new customers and new product lines, including our Tire Trading Network, it is the right time to add strength to our field sales operations to sustain that growth," says Dave McCann, CEO of CarParts Technologies.

Wecker has more than 25 years of senior-level sales experience. In his new position, he will continue developing and executing CarParts Technologies’ sales strategy.

He was most recently vice president of automotive at Commerce One, a global provider of business-to-business electronic commerce solutions. Prior to Commerce One, Wecker served as vice president of automotive at Manugistics.

Wecker spent 16 years at General Electric Co. establishing EDI and electronic commerce initiatives across several industries, including the automotive industry.

He also worked with Baxter Healthcare, J.D. Power and Associates and MEMA (Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association) in establishing market and order information systems.

CarParts Technologies is a leading provider of extended supply chain software solutions for the automotive aftermarket.

"In 2003, many more companies in the $175 billion North American automotive aftermarket will be deciding how to move their supply chain relationships onto the Internet," says the company.
