2016 North American Tire and Retread Expo Will Feature Recycling

Nov. 19, 2015

The first-ever annual Tire Recycling World exhibit will be part of the North American Tire and Retread Expo set for April 19-21, 2016, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, La.

The three-day expo brings together a wide variety of tire and retread industry professionals for networking, buying, and selling opportunities. The new recycling exhibit section will highlight the importance of recovering energy and high-value materials from the one billion end-of-life tires generated globally each year.

Event planners say including recycling professionals such as tire recycling equipment manufacturers, tire-derived material (TDM) feedstock suppliers, and tire-derived product (TDP) manufacturers will bring the remainder of the tire’s lifecycle into the arena.

Rob Czukor of Tire Recycling Consultants Inc. and Denise Kennedy of DK Enterprises invite tire and rubber recycling professionals to reserve a booth in the special Tire Recycling World section.

“We believe that by bringing tire recycling to the North American Tire and Retread Expo we can close the loop from the manufactured tire to the end-user and bring higher value to the new tire, tire recycling and retread industries,” says Kennedy.

The first Expo, held in 2015, exceeded expectations by drawing 112 exhibitors and 1,041 attendees from 62 countries.

“By including retreaders and recyclers in the line-up, we believe this event has the potential to achieve the magnitude and importance of the International Tire and Rubber Expo,” says Czukor. The last ITRA show was held in Louisville, Ky., in 2003.

The North American Tire and Retread Expo is free for attendees and includes an inaugural party at the House of Blues for all, as well as training sessions, special speakers, and the Miss Retread Truck Tire Contest.

Event organizers say booth space is limited in the Tire Recycling World exhibit. Register by Dec. 31 to receive the 10% early bird discount.
