TRIB to conduct retreading and repair workshops

Nov. 4, 2008

The Tire Retread & Repair Information Bureau (TRIB) will be conducting retreading and tire repair and safety workshops for the state of Oklahoma Nov. 18-19, 2008, in Tulsa.

The workshops are being sponsored by the Oklahoma Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) and will be held at the James O. Goodwin Health Center, Tulsa County Health Department. They'll begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at approximately 3 p.m. both days. Up to 40 participants from Oklahoma public sector fleets are expected at each workshop.

Topics covered will include the economic and environmental benefits of proper retreading and tire repairing along with information on how to safely mount and demount large tires. Tire maintenance and safety will be a large part of each day’s workshops. There will also be a hands-on segment regarding tire repairs with an emphasis on the right and wrong ways to repair tires.

TRIB members are invited to participate and assist Harvey Brodsky, TRIB’s managing director, in conducting the workshops.
