2015 Global Tire Expo, Pre-Show: TIA's fine financials

Nov. 2, 2015

The Tire Industry Association (TIA) was in the black financially in 2014. No surprises are expected for the association's finances in 2015. They will be in the black again, not in the red.

At the 2015 TIA Membership Meeting, held Nov. 2 prior to the start of the Global Tire Expo in Las Vegas, Treasurer Mike Wolfe (pictured) said with two months to go, the financials are in line with the budget. In addition, he described the cash reserve as "solid."

Executive Vice President Roy Littlefield told Modern Tire Dealer that some $300,000 was added to the reserve this year.

In other news, three long-standing board members finished out their terms: Ken Brown, Alan Brown Tire Center; Dick Gust, Liberty Tire Recycling; and Jim Melvin, Tire Pros of Rhode Island Inc. Gust will remain chairman of TIA's Government Affairs Committee.

Five people were added to the board: Alpio Barbera, Redwood General Tire Pros; Mike Baggett, Yokohama Tire Corp.; Keith Jarman, AME International LLC; Jim Pangle, Fountain Tire Ltd.; and Jon Schadl, K&M Tire Inc.
