Application Period Opens for Michelin/TIA Scholarship

Michelin North America Inc. and the Tire Industry Association (TIA) report the application period for the 2016/2017 Michelin/TIA Scholarship is now open.

The eligibility requirements are as follows:

* The scholarship program is open to part-time employees and dependent children of full-time employees of TIA-member tire dealers.

* Applicants must be a senior in high school or current undergraduate student who plans to attend college full-time in the fall of 2016.

* Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

* Applicants who are high school seniors applying for a four-year scholarship must have a minimum SAT score of 1,500 or a minimum ACT score of 22.

Applicants must submit the requested information via the website or by mail. All additional items must be received no later than 5 p.m. EST on Dec. 31, 2015.

The Michelin/TIA scholarship has been awarded every year since 2000. Since inception, more than $250,000 has been awarded to 52 recipients who have gone on to attend accredited two-year, four-year, technical or vocational schools. Once awarded, the recipients may renew the scholarship for up to three more years.
