TIA Will Induct Glen Nicholson as President

Glen Nicholson will begin his one-year term as president of the Tire Industry Association (TIA) on Nov. 2, 2015. He will be inducted at TIA's annual membership meeting in Las Vegas, Nev.

The annual membership meeting will be held from 12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the Tropicana Las Vegas. All TIA members are invited and there is no cost to attend.

Nicholson graduated high school in Burke, Va., near Washington, D.C. He attended college at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Fla., and during his sophomore year he started working as a tire technician at Allied Tire Sales.

While attending the University of Central Florida he was offered a full-time job as an auto technician for a NTW (National Tire Warehouse) franchisee. Approximately 18 months later, Nicholson was promoted to manager of that location.

Other store manager jobs followed before Nicholson was offered a job with TBC Corp. teaching sales and store management for Tire Kingdom Service Centers.

Today, he serves as senior director, retail training for TBC Corp., one of North America’s largest marketers of automotive replacement tires through a multi-channel strategy. Nicholson oversees all training efforts for the company’s three retail and three franchise brands which include Tire Kingdom, NTB Tire & Service Centers, Merchants Tire & Auto Service Centers, Midas, Big O Tires and SpeeDee Oil Change & Auto Service.

In addition, TIA will also introduce Tom Formanek, regional sales manager for Stellar Industries Inc. as vice president and David Martin, director of sales - tire supplies and specialty rubber for American Tire Distributors Inc. as secretary.
