Turkish tire manufacturer Petlas Tire Corp. will open an office in Akron, Ohio, in order to work more closely with its distibutors and dealers. The company’s goal is to deliver its Petlas and Starmaxx brand tires faster and more efficiently.
“Being in the North American market for more than eight years, we have come to see that customers want their needs and concerns to be listened more closely,” says Sinan Evcan, country sales manager for Petlas.
“With this aim, Petlas initiated its plans to open a U.S.A. office. With over 1,000 SKUs ranging from 8 to 50 inches, Petlas will be offering PCR, LVR, TBR, farm, OTR, trailer, forklift, MPT tires to its distributors in the market,” says Evcan.
Petlas, established in 1976, is located in central Turkey and currently employs over 3,000 people. The company says that with its state-of-art technology investments, capacity increases and new U.S. sizes, it aims to continue its growth in North American market.
The new U.S. sales office will handle logistics and customs documentation for tires imported into the U.S. from Turkey and will serve as the point of contact for tires imported to the Mexico and Canada markets, according to Evcan.
The U.S. sales office, Petlas Tire USA LLC, is a subsidary of Petlas Tire Industry and Trade Co. Petlas says it will promote its Petlas and Starmaxx brands in the U.S. market.
