The Louisiana Independent Tire Dealers Association (LITDA) is hosting two events in October to benefit its scholarship program.

The Scholarship Month festivities will kick off with the second annual Dollars for Scholars program. During Dollars for Scholars, 43 participating member locations will donate $1 for every tire sold at their location on Friday, Oct. 9 and Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015. All of the proceeds will benefit the 2016 LITDA Scholarship Fund. This year’s participating locations are:

Scholarship Month continues with the Third Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament October 15-16, 2015, at Coushatta Casino Resort in Kinder, La.

On Thursday, October 15, 2015, LITDA is hosting a golf pairing and cocktail reception at 6:00 p.m. in the Bar 7 Cocktail Bar at Coushatta Casino Resort. On Friday, October 16, 2015, LITDA is holding its Scholarship Golf Tournament at Koasati Pines, 300 Koasati Drive, Kinder, La. Registration opens at 10:00 a.m., and the tournament begins at 11:00 a.m.

“We are very excited about LITDA’s Scholarship Month! Our third annual Golf Tournament will have great food, drinks and fun while raising money for the next generation, and we are very appreciative to the locations participating in Dollars for Scholars this year,” says LITDA President Roger Spears.

The LITDA Scholarship Program recognizes the sons and daughters of LITDA members who have achieved academic excellence and who have proven community leadership abilities. In 2015, LITDA awarded $2,000 scholarships to four recipients, and the organization hopes to match those contributions in 2016. The 2016 Scholarship deadline is Feb. 18, 2016.

Registration for the LITDA Fall Event is $125 per player and is open to independent tire dealers, vendors and the general public. Sponsorship opportunities are available and include a variety of benefits.
