Hankook Tire leads points battle into final round

With only one round remaining in the 2015 Formula Drift Pro Championship series Hankook Tire and its drivers have their eyes set on the winner’s podium.  The final round of the series, scheduled for October 9th – 10th at Irwindale Speedway, will determine Formula Drift’s 2015 overall Pro Championship driver and manufacturer Tire Cup champion.
 
After what has been an intense season to-date Hankook Tire driver Fredric Aasbo heads to Irwindale in first place overall with 428 pro champion points.  Close behind in second place is Hankook Tire driver Ken Gushi with 348 points and Chris Forsberg in fourth place overall with 331 points.  Additionally Hankook Tire tops the 2015 Tire Cup with 905 points, a lead of over 260 points from second place.
 
After an amazing 2014 Formula Drift season which saw Hankook Tire driver Chris Forsberg win the 2014 Formula Drift Championship and Hankook being crowned “Formula Drift Tire Manufacturer Champion”, its second Tire Cup championship in a row following the cup’s 2013 inaugural season, Hankook and its drivers have made it to the winner’s podium each and every round of the 2015 season.

All of Hankook’s Formula Drift drivers compete on Hankook’s Extreme Performance Ventus R-S3 tire, one of the premier tires in Formula Drift competition. The Ventus R-S3 was designed using the same design and technology used to build Hankook’s winning Ventus Z214 racing tire and has garnering Hankook multiple Formula Drift podium finishes and championship wins.
