Adams takes helm at MaddenCo

Oct. 30, 2008

MaddenCo Inc. is moving forward following the sudden death of its founder and owner Greg Madden (see "MaddenCo founder dies at 56," Oct. 27, 2008, on www.moderntiredealer.com).

The company released the following statement:

"To all MaddenCo customers and vendors, and the rest of the tire dealer industry:

"It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, son and brother, Greg Madden.

"Greg had several passions in his life, with MaddenCo being one of them. Recognizing his passion for the company and the employees who helped him make MaddenCo a success, the Madden family is fully committed to having MaddenCo maintain its position as a leader in providing enterprise software to the industry.

"Greg always believed that his employees were the most important part of making his business successful. As a result, Greg recruited Jay Adams, currently vice president and general counsel of the company, with the intent of Jay eventually assuming the leadership role of the company. Greg's family, as well as Greg, has great confidence in Jay.

"Therefore, effective immediately, Jay will oversee the day-to-day operations of the company. We wish Jay well in his new position and are confident that he will continue moving the company in the right direction.

"We want to thank all of the MaddenCo customers and vendors for their condolences and support during the past several days. We also want to thank those in the tire industry not affiliated with MaddenCo who have offered their well wishes. Greg was a wonderful human being. We miss him dearly."

God bless,

Jeff Madden, brother of Greg Madden and spokesman for the Madden family
