Nexen Tire Corp. has been recognized as an outstanding supplier by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA.)
Nexen received the ‘Outstanding Quality Performance Award’ during the Outstanding Supplier Quality Awards for 2014, held Sept. 15, 2015, in Seoul, Korea.
FCA evaluates technical skills, quality, and brand value in order to give recognition to the most outstanding suppliers each year. Last year, FCA recognized Nexen as an excellent supplier in the Chemical APAC Export sector during the APAC Supplier Town Hall and Awards Ceremony held in Shanghai.
The Outstanding Supplier Quality Awards is an annual event hosted by FCA to recognize its most outstanding suppliers for manufacturing quality products among global suppliers. This year, of 1,500 global suppliers, five tire plants from four manufacturers were selected, with Nexen grabbing two of those five spots with their Changnyeong and Yangsan plants.
“It is a great honor to be recognized by FCA again this year," Nexen said in a press release. "These achievements are a testament to our performance-driven technology and the outstanding quality of our products. We will continue our endeavors in satisfying our customers, global car makers, and partners by ensuring high quality products and services.”
Nexen supplies original equipment tires for various FCA models, including the 500x, Fiat’s first crossover vehicle, the new Chrysler 200 midsize sedan, and the Ram 3500 pickup truck. Most recently, the company signed a contract to supply original equipment tires for the Fiat Ducato, a commercial van.
