Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd. has been awarded a contract from FCA US LLC (formerly Chrysler Group LLC) to supply Falken tires for the 2016 Chrysler 200 BUX models.
Falken Tire Corp. will supply the Falken Ziex914 Ecorun, in size 215/55R17, to Sterling Heights, Mich., where the vehicle will be assembled. The Chrysler 200 BUX will be exported to other countries.
This is the Falken Ziex914 Ecorun's second original equipment contract with FCA US. The tire, in the 215/60R17, was OE on the 2015 Jeep Compass and Patriot BUX models.
“Being on an award winning vehicle such as the Chrysler 200 plays a vital role in our OE expansion,” says Anthony Lee, Falken's OE technical manager.
The ZE914 was designed to combine excellent rolling resistance with "great handling and wear performance."
