Bridgestone’s Potenza will be OE on Miata

Aug. 24, 2015

The 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata Club and Grand Touring models will be equipped with Bridgestone Americas Inc.’s Potenza S001 tire.

The company says the ultra high performance Potenza S001 tire blends high-speed agility with a comfortable ride and is designed to combine low rolling resistance efficiency with maximum sports performance in dry and wet conditions. The finely tuned tread pattern delivers enhanced grip and cornering capabilities, while maintaining stability at high speeds.

“Bridgestone has a long history of working with Mazda to develop premium tire solutions for its sports cars,” says Mike Martini, president, original equipment, U.S. and Canada Consumer Tire Sales Divisions, Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations.

“The fourth generation of the Mazda MX-5 is a perfect platform to showcase the innovation and performance of the Bridgestone Potenza S001 tire.”

The Potenza S001 tire is available as original equipment on the 2016 Mazda MX-5 Club and Grand Touring models in tire size 205/45R17. Mazda’s flagship sports car, the 2016 Mazda MX-5, is available in showrooms now.
