American Tire Distributors Holdings Inc. has purchased Albert Tire LLC. The deal excludes some of the assets located in Albert Tire's West Deptford, N.J., headquarters. The transaction closed on June 30, 2015.
“The opportunity for ATD and Albert Tire to join forces is very positive for the future of our mutual customers,” said William “Bill” Berry, president and chief executive officer of ATD is a prepared statement. “The strengths of ATD and Albert Tire align very well, as both companies focus on providing customers with unsurpassed product availability and industry-leading service levels.".
ATD said that Albert Tire has "grown to become a well-recognized wholesale distributor acorss the northeast and mid-Atlantic markets." Albert Tire operates distribution centers in West Deptford; York, Pa.; Beltsville, Md.; and Manassas, Va.
ATD also said that both it and Albert Tire Goodyear G3X distributors and both have strong, long-standing relationships with Goodyear. Albert Tire recently began marketing the Continental family of brands. ATD also markets the Continental and General brands and the Gold associate dealer program.

Representatives at American Tire Distributors Inc. (ATD), a business arm of American Tire Distributors Holdings, could not be reached for comment. When ATD responds to our inquiries, we will share that information with you.
The Albert Tire website (http://alberttire.com) defaults to the ATD website. Calls to Albert Tire in West Deptford, N.J., went unanswered.
Customers logging into the website to place orders get this message:
"As a result of ATD and Albert Tire joining forces, the operations and the inventories for the two companies will consolidate into the larger ATD distribution centers. This process has already begun and therefore the Albert Tire website can no longer accept orders. In an effort to make the transition as easy as possible, we have created this link to ATDOnline to enable you to place your order. Albert Tire customers that already have an ATDOnline username and password can continue to use your ATDOnline credentials. For Albert Tire customers that have not used ATDOnline, we have preset credentials for you -- and they are the same username and password used on the Albert website."
Albert Tire was founded in 1919. The wholesale consumer and commercial tire distributor serviced more than 1,000 retailer dealer locations in the northeastern United States, according to Albert Tire’s software provider, MAM Software Inc. (Earlier this year, MAM Software announced that Albert Tire had integrated into MAM Software’s wholesaler e-commerce solution to integrate and streamline order processing for its dealers.)
Albert Tire distributed many brands through its three warehouses. It had a partnership with Goodyear since 1949.
