BKT has new radial tire for farm implements
Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (BKT) has introduced a radial tire for farming implements featuring increased flexion (IF) technology. The new RIB 713 tire, size 280/70 R 15, is designed to reduce soil compaction and withstand punctures.
BKT says it developed the RIB 713 with IF technology as a response to the needs of modern agriculture for reduced soil compaction. IF technology allows for heavier load carrying capacity at the same inflation pressures as compared to a standard tire of the same size. This feature, along with a larger footprint area, provides uniform weight distribution and excellent flotation properties.
The new RIB 713 tire has steel belting for increased stubble and penetration resistance. BKT says this common risk, especially during harvest season, is a matter of increasing awareness and concern among American farmers who grow large-scale GMO products. These plants are incredibly husky leaving strong stubbles on the land that can ruin tires.
In addition, the “D” speed rating ensures that the RIB 713 tire runs up to 40 mph (65 km/h) on the road for quick travel from one piece of farmland to another. Currently available in size IF 280/70 R 15, this tire offers increased load capacity operating at standard inflation pressure, according to the company.
In a nutshell, BKT says its commitment to innovation and extensive experience in the field has led to the launch of a unique tire designed to provide optimum performance, protect the soil and deliver a long and trouble-free service life.
