Triangle Tyre Co. Ltd. has named Pierre Cohade chief executive officer. He is a former executive of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.
Ding Yuhua continues to serve as chairman of the board.
The company says Cohade’s experience spans four continents and multiple industries. He has held executive positions with responsibility for the international operations of Eastman Kodak Co., Groupe Danone, and, most recently, Wells Fargo and Co. His experience in the tire industry dates from 2004 to 2011 when he served as president of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.’s Asia Pacific operations.
Chairman Ding stated, “I am delighted to welcome Pierre as Triangle Tyre's new CEO. Pierre is a most recognized global executive, having worked in three multinationals and four continents over 30 years.
“He will focus on the globalization strategy of the company, and will keep driving and enhancing the capability of the company in manufacturing, marketing and sales, R&D, talent development and leadership in order to build the Triangle brand around the world.
“Also, he will lead the modernization of Triangle governance and management practices and policies, transforming Triangle from a leader in China to a global player.”
Cohade's plans for Triangle include accelerating the establishment and improvement of the company’s global manufacturing system, R&D innovation system and marketing and sales system. He says Triangle will become an OE supplier to global brands and expand its replacement market presence. “There are three critical competencies that Triangle must be known for: product leadership, manufacturing excellence, and branded business.”
Triangle is based in Weihai in China’s Shandong province. The company was established in 1976 and sells over 25 million tires annually to customers in over 160 countries and regions.
