Tire Discounters to move HQ, add warehouse

May 15, 2015

Tire Discounters Inc. will be moving its headquarters to downtown Cincinnati, Ohio, and adding a distribution facility during the summer of 2015.

The company is moving its corporate functions to an office building in the core of downtown Cincinnati at One East 4th Street. At least 40 employees will occupy one floor of the building. The corporate offices are currently housed in Tire Discounters’ distribution center in Sharonville, Ohio, which is about 20 miles north of downtown Cincinnati.

“We believe moving our headquarters to downtown Cincinnati makes great sense for our company’s growth plan, but it’s also important for me because this means Tire Discounters headquarters will remain in the same region it first started 39 years ago,” says Chip Wood, founder and chairman of Tire Discounters and a Cincinnati native.

“We looked at several locations in multiple cities, but in the end this location was the best for us and our employees.”

Tire Discounters also is opening a distribution center in Murfreesboro, Tenn., in the greater Nashville area. The company says the 67,200-square-foot warehouse facility will create new job opportunities in the area and enable it to better support the company’s expanding footprint in Tennessee. Tire Discounters is leasing the space for the new distribution center, which is scheduled to open this summer.

“This is a very important and exciting move for Tire Discounters as we quickly expand our business,” says Paul Brunner, president and CEO.

“We’re opening new stores, expanding the markets we’re in, adding a distribution center and now moving our corporate headquarters to downtown Cincinnati so we have more space.  It’s certainly an exciting time to be part of the momentum happening here,” Brunner says.

Tire Discounters’ primary distribution center will remain in Sharonville. The facility totals 200,000 square feet. The company says it plans to expand the space to accommodate future growth. The space also houses the company's training facility and other support staff.

According to Brunner, Tire Discounters has outgrown the Sharonville campus and moving the corporate headquarters downtown will allow for further expansion there.

Tire Discounters says it is on an accelerated path to open new stores. The newest store is in Murfreesboro, and it opened May 6. It is the sixth Tire Discounters store in the greater Nashville area. The company expects to have up to 200 jobs in Nashville created by 2016.

Tire Discounters employs more than 1,000 people in nearly 100 locations across Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and Tennessee. The company is No. 9 on the MTD 100.
