Bauer Built awards two scholarships

Bauer Built Inc. has announced the 2015 winners of the G. F. “Sam” and Ethel V. Bauer/Bauer Built, Inc. Scholarship Award. 

The Durand, Wis.-based company introduced the scholarship program in 1994 in commemoration of its 50th anniversary and in honor of founders G. F. “Sam” and Ethel V. Bauer.  Since 1994, Bauer Built has awarded $87,000 in scholarships.

The following students were awarded $1,500 each:

Alexa Milliren, Durand High School, Durand, Wis.  Alexa is the granddaughter of Joan Traun, who is corporate receptionist at the offices in Durand.  She is the daughter of Tim and Julie Milliren of Arkansaw, Wis.  Alexa plans on attending the University of Wisconsin – LaCrosse to obtain a degree in physical therapy.

Amanda Nyquist, Robbinsdale Cooper High School, New Hope, Minn. Amanda is the daughter of Ronald and Connie Nyquist of Brooklyn Park, Minn.  Ronald is the assistant store manager at Bauer Built’s tire center in Blaine, Minn.  Amanda’s plans are to attend Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, to obtain a degree in math education.

Bauer Built services the Midwest in the wholesale, commercial, and retail distribution of new and retreaded tires, batteries, automotive services, and other related products.  Bauer Built has 34 tire centers and seven Michelin Retread Technology plants. 

The company ranks ninth on Modern Tire Dealer's "Top 25 U.S. Commercial Tire Dealers" list.
