258 'Spot the Retreads' with TRIB

Attendees at the Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS) tested their skills during a “Spot the Retreads” contest hosted by the Tire Retread & Repair Information Bureau (TRIB.)

TRIB Managing Director David Stevens said 258 MATS attendees tried to correctly identify the retreaded and new tires on display at the TRIB booth. Those who correctly identified the tires were entered into drawings to win one of seven sets of eight retreaded tires, or four wide-base retreaded tires.

“There was an improvement this year by the contestants compared to last year as 34% of them were able to correctly identify all the retreaded tires,” Stevens said. “As in previous years this provided a great opportunity for us to have broader discussions with the attendees about the quality of retreaded tires and the purchase options through our members for these owner-operators and fleets.”

The prizes were offered thanks to TRIB's partnerships with: AcuTread Alliance Group, Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions, Continental Tire the Americas, Goodyear Retreads, Marangoni Tread North America, Michelin Retread Technologies, and Oliver Rubber Company. The total value of those retreaded tires is more than $10,000.
