Jan. 29, 2015

Monro Muffler Brake Inc. has acquired the nine locations of Gold Coast Tire & Auto Centers in South Florida and rebranded them as Tire Choice and Total Car Care.

Monro announced the acquisition during its third-quarter financials report on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, but did not disclose the name of the acquired company at that time. Kim Rudd of Monro has since confirmed for Modern Tire Dealer that Gold Coast was the acquired company. It adds nine stores in the Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach areas. According to Monro, acquisitions completed thus far in fiscal year 2015 include 72 locations in three new states and represent annualized sales of $84 million.

Gold Coast announced the sale on its website with a letter from Josh Oretsky, secretary of Gold Coast Tire Holdings Inc. The website already is rebranded with the Tire Choice name and logo.
