Goodyear recalls 48,500 Fortera HL tires

Jan. 26, 2015

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. is recalling about 48,500 Fortera HL tires, size P255/65R18 109S, that were made starting Nov. 30 (week 48), 2014 and ending Jan. 10 (week one), 2015.

A Fortera HL test tire was non-compliant on a routine endurance test and some of these tires could experience very small cracks in the tread. However, this does not indicate a safety issue, according to the company.

Approximately 32,100 tires were made for some models of the Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave.  About 16,400 tires were sold in the replacement market.

The company says consumers should have these tires replaced at any Goodyear retail store, authorized dealer, or at their original point of purchase.  Goodyear will replace these tires, free of charge, with a similar tire in the same size.
