Bridgestone Americas Holding Inc. has sent its "emergency response team" to Texas to help with recovery efforts following Hurricane Ike.

Members of the team have been helping employees at the Firestone Polymers plant in Orange, Texas, who are cleaning up from damage caused by flooding and high winds.

The team is made up of six volunteers from Bridgestone Americas headquarters in Nashville, Tenn. It was created three years ago after hurricanes ravaged the Gulf Coast.
