Volkswagen has selected Continental to provide tires for its ID.3 electric car.
Both the Continental EcoContact 6 summer tire and the Continental WinterContact TS 850 P winter tire "have been adapted to suit the specific requirements of the ID.3," according to Continental officials.
"As an electric vehicle, the ID.3 will run on tires with low rolling resistance that save energy in order to deliver the maximum, possible range between charges, with low tire/road noise for passenger comfort and with aerodynamic sidewall design to help minimize the vehicle's aerodynamic drag."
Both tires feature the tiremaker's ContiSeal Technology, which closes tire punctures in the tread area.
