Meineke Car Care Centers LLC franchisees provided 3,271 free oil changes for veterans and active-duty military service members on Veterans Day this year.
The company says a growing number of franchisees participated in the promotion.
Dave Repass, owner of Meineke Car Care Center in Lewes, Del., regularly hosts a big Veterans Day celebration for the Lewes community. This year was his sixth, and he and his team performed 262 free oil changes.
Repass has turned the day into a big affair. Other local companies donate food, and the local Office of Veterans Affairs offers provides free flu shots to veterans. There are also opportunities to jump into the Meineke hot air balloon for tethered rides.
“It was a fabulous day giving just a small token of thanks to those who served us,” said Repass. “This is our day to give our veterans the thanks and the honor that they deserve.”
