The deal to build a new Bridgestone Corp. technical center in Akron, Ohio, "isn't 100% finalized," but progress is being made, says Bridgestone Americas Inc. (BSAH) Chairman and CEO Mark Emkes.
"We're negotiating on a few points, but that's going very well. Our hope is to have this finalized and put to bed by the end of 2008."
In late July, Emkes announced that a recommendation had been made to keep the technical center in Akron.
The recommendation must be approved by the boards of directors of Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire LLC, BSAH and Bridgestone Corp.
