Atturo Tire Corp. is extending its Trail Blade tire lineup to include the Trail Blade Sport series. The company will unveil the first tire in the series, the Trail Blade MTS, at the 2019 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show. The MTS stands for mud-terrain sport, and Atturo says it's an extension of the popular Trail Blade M/T tire. It borrows from modifications made by Atturo's short-course, off-road racing teams, and the MTS is built to offer superior traction. Its tread pattern features additional grooves and sipes with a unique four-lug design.
The Trail Blade MTS continues Atturo’s partnership with Quartermaster Knives by featuring a tread block that’s modeled after the OTR-5 karambit knife and covers more than half of the tire’s sidewall.
“With the debut of the Trail Blade MTS as the first tire in our Trail Blade Sport series, we’re excited to offer a bold new option and fitments for full-size 4x4 vehicles,” says Atturo President Michael Mathis. “We’re equally excited to introduce both the new tire and series in Las Vegas during SEMA, the premier automotive specialty products trade show on the planet. The Atturo Trail Blade MTS has these features:
Unique look: The center tread blocks work with the shoulder treads to create the tire’s unique four-lug design. An angled shoulder tread featuring both a horizontal sipe and a V-shaped sipe cutting across the middle of the block.
Traction: The sipes aid in wet traction, especially while turning. The quad center treads create additional edges for traction on loose surfaces. The sidewall tread blades alternate into full integration with the shoulder tread blocks, creating a serrated edge that greatly improves traction in loose surfaces.
Clean: The self-cleaning ability of the MTS is enhanced with the built-in stone ejectors.
Sound: The shoulder blocks feature a special pattern embossed into the side of the tread, which helps distort sound waves created by the large and deep tread.
The Trail Blade MTS features a heavy-duty 12 ply-rated construction across many sizes. This is strategically applied for those sizes where the increased load capacity makes the tire suitable for three-quarter and 1-ton trucks.
The MTS size range is focused on aftermarket applications. The common sizes of 33-inch and 35-inch diameter will be 13.5-inches wide to accommodate the popular 12-inch wide wheel sizes. Wheel diameters will range from 15 inches to 24 inches.
The Trail Blade MTS is available in one initial size: 35x13.5R20 126Q 12PR.
