TGI Offers Free Tires to Bahamians Affected by Hurricane Dorian

Sept. 19, 2019

Tire Group International LLC (TGI) is sending free industrial, off-the-road and agricultural tires to private citizens of Grand Bahama and the Abaco Islands as they continue to confront the effects of Hurricane Dorian.

The Florida-based wholesale tire distributor, and its partner, Tropical Shipping and Construction Co. Ltd., are working together to ship the tires to help citizens rebuild their islands.

Any Bahamian citizen that would like to participate should e-mail [email protected]. TGI will offer its  Astro house brand of tires. "As a company we have continued to ask ourselves, what else could we be doing to help our neighbors get back on their feet as quickly as possible?"

TGI's CEO Tony Gonzalez says, "What better way to help than with tires! Good quality tires will be essential to the clean-up and rebuilding efforts currently underway. It is a blessing to be able to help the Bahamian people, to help them in any way we can is our duty as neighbors. For me personally, I cherish the Bahamas and their beauty as well as their people and their island lifestyle. We will continue to support them until they get back on their feet." TGI is also using its Miami warehouse as a staging ground to collect donations to help those affected by Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas. For those not in the Miami area, TGI also created an Amazon gift list of necessities that could be shipped.

TGI has sent three shipments of supplies to the Bahamas. The first was 19 pallets of cases of water — enough to fill a whole container.

The second and third shipments have included 8 pallets collectively. TGI estimates it has collected more than $15,000 in donations since the hurricane hit the Bahamas.
