Tire service tools and equipment provider AME International LLC has entered the port business.
The Brooksville, Fla.-based company says its Easy Gripper is an innovative tire handling tool that allows users to safely and efficiently manipulate and handle all sizes of port tires.
AME International says Fenix Marine Services Ltd. is the first port terminal in North America to feature Easy Gripper technology.
Matt Dickinson, senior manager, terminal manager for Fenix Marine, says the Easy Gripper has “added more value to our operation than any other piece of gear.”
AME International says the Easy Gripper is popular in underground mines and quarries.
“We’ve installed Easy Grippers in tire shops, tire and equipment manufacturers, mine sites and now ports,” says Mike Farrell, repair manager. “Many ports are currently using forklifts to maneuver these stacks of tires. It’s always great to see our products improve safety, productivity and processes for our customers.”
AME is participating in the Intermodal Expo in Long Beach through Sept. 18, 2019, and will be offering demonstrations of the Easy Gripper at the nearby port.
