Denver Will Host the Next Certified ATS Class

Next stop: Denver, Colo. The Tire Industry Association (TIA) will be holding a Certified Automotive Tire Service (ATS) Instructor class in Denver Aug. 13-16.

The four-day class, a combination of classroom and hands-on instruction, will be held at the Lincoln College of Technologies. It will provide in-depth instruction on a number of topics related to the servicing of passenger and light truck tires. They include:

* vehicle lifting;

* lug nut torque procedures;

* demounting, mounting and inflation guidelines;

* balancing techniques;

* tire repair procedures;

* tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) identification;

* TPMS sensor service;

* TPMS relearn procedures (domestic and Import); and

* TPMS diagnostics.

The class covers all of the industry guidelines from TIA, the U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association, the Automotive Lift Institute and the Tire and Rim Association. Following the training and successful completion of the final exam, students are recognized as TIA Certified ATS Instructors, which gives them the credentials to return to the dealership to train and certify technicians.
