Continental Tire the Americas LLC is targeting the light truck tire market with the release of two new tires: the TerrainContact H/T for pickup trucks and full-size SUVs, and the CrossContact LX25 designed for CUVs and small SUVs. Combined, they cover 84% of the highway/terrain (H/T) segment.
Both tires are available as of July 1, 2019. The TerrainContact H/T is a new premium highway terrain all-season tire for pickup trucks and full-size SUVs. Here's the tire summed up in three words: "strong, durable, and quiet."
The TerrainContact H/T features Continental's patented TractionPlus technology which focuses on tread life and durability. Continental says internal testing showed the tire offered the best wet braking when compared to the Michelin Defender LTX M/S, Yokohama Geolandar H/T G056 and Goodyear Wrangler SR-A, in the size 265/65R18 T.
The tire is available in 24 metric and 10 LT-metric sizes for wheels ranging from 16 inches to 22 inches. The CrossContact LX25 replaces Continental's CrossContact LX20 for crossovers and small SUVs. Internal tessting showed the CrossContact LX25 scored the best in tread life, when compared to the Michelin Premier LTX, Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season Plus, Bridgestone Ecopia H/L 422 Plus and Goodyear Assurance CS Fuel Max, in the size 235/60R18 H.
The tire is engineered to be quiet and responsive. It features EcoPlus Technology, which provides improved wet braking over the predecessor, the CrossContact LX20. The tire features Continental's QuickView Indicators to keep the driver informed of optimal tire performance.
The CrossContact LX25 comes in an expanded size lineup, in speed ratings from T to V, and 40 sizes for 16-inch to 22-inch wheels.

The TerrainContact H/T is an all-new tire that we’ve added to our light truck portfolio. It follows up Continental’s all-terrain tire, the TerrainContact A/T.“
