Goodyear Will Sell Commercial Tires Online in 3Q

Feb. 5, 2019

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. was the first tire manufacturer to offer an e-commerce option for consumer tires. It is now the first tire manufacturer to sell commercial tires online.

At the recent 2019 Goodyear Customer Conference in Dallas, Goodyear announced the new e-commerce program for commercial tires is in the testing stage, and will officially launch in the third quarter of this year. It will be available via Goodyear’s commercial tire website, www.goodyeartrucktires.com.

Just like with consumer tires on www.goodyear.com, commercial customers will be able to select the right tires for their operations and select an installation date and time with a participating dealer. The program "aims to increase business and online competitiveness of Goodyear commercial tire dealers," said the company.

"Positioning Goodyear’s commercial dealers to connect with customers and capture new business is one of our priorities," said Dustin Lancy, marketing manager for commercial tires. "We are in a unique position to draw on our experience with e-commerce for consumer tires and be the first to bring a commercial program to the market."

"Through this program, Goodyear will help drive new customers to my dealership, so I can develop long-term relationships with them and help lower their operating costs," said Brent Bingham, owner of Bingham Tire, a three-location Goodyear commercial tire dealership based in Barbourville, Ky. "I am excited about the new opportunities that it will create for my business."

The new e-commerce program is part of Goodyear’s Total Solution of products, services and fleet management tools, delivered by a nationwide network.
