Raybestos friction products pass police 'investigation'

Aug. 16, 2008

A line of Raybestos police friction products recently earned D3EA PPSV (Police and Public Service Vehicle) certification.

According to the Affinia Group Inc., which produces Raybestos brand brakes under its Affinia Under Vehicle Group, D3EA certification is a voluntary, objective and completely independent validation process for replacement brake friction materials and rotors. Certification provides a basis for maintaining compliance with FMVSS (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards) performance requirements by meeting or exceeding those requirements.

PPSV certification "captures the critical system level performance characteristics of police and other emergency service vehicles and has established performance requirements that may surpass those imposed by original equipment manufacturers," adds Affinia.

Raybestos D3EA PPSV certified brake pads are available on four vehicle platforms:

1. Dodge Charger/Magnum.

2. 2007-08 Chevrolet Tahoe.

3. 2006-08 Chevrolet Impala.

4. 2003-08 Ford Crown Victoria.
