Marangoni Industrial Tyres, a division of the Marangoni Group, has invested in the production of "superelastic" tires in Sri Lanka. Although they are mainly targeted for use on forklift trucks, they also will be available for other equipment, such as loading platforms, loaders and other industrial and commercial machinery.
"This investment, part of the division's development plans, is aimed at increasing the company's production capacity, expanding the current customer base and, in general, increasing market share," says Giovanni Marangoni, president of Marangoni Industrial Tyres and Group vice president.
The new site will be highly integrated and will work closely with the research and development center in Rovereto, Italy.
The closeness of the plant to emerging Asian markets also will contribute to the development of business in new geographical regions.
