Nokian posts third quarter sales gains

Nov. 21, 2007

Nokian Tyres plc achieved net sales of 668.6 million euros during the third quarter, up 25% from 3Q 2006 levels. Nokian's third quarter operating profit totaled 140.8 million euros.

Nokian says its net sales grew in all profit centers during the third quarter of 2007.

"Sales grew in all key markets, particularly in Russia," says Nokian CEO and President Kim Gran. "Passenger car tire sales consisted mainly of winter tires. The average tire prices rose as a result of the improved sales mix, new products and successfully implemented price increases.

"The outlook for the rest of the year is good, and we expect the growth to continue throughout the last quarter of the year."
