Continental AG has bought 51% interest in Continental Matador Rubber, a truck tire manufacturing joint venture based in Slovakia.
"We are significantly strengthening our production and operations base in central and eastern Europe," says Continental Chairman Manfred Wennemer.
Matador management will remain in charge of the Matador brand, according to Continental officials.
