SEMA Show, Day Three: Alabama tire dealer wins one-of-a-kind ride from Continental

Nov. 1, 2007

Bill Rodgers, president of Lee-Rodgers Tire Co. in Birmingham, Ala., won a special-edition Lexus IS 250 as part of the "Lexus Giveaway" sponsored by Continental Tire North America Inc.

The custom Lexus project, built by West Coast Customs, was the grand prize in a weeklong sweepstakes held at the Specialty Equipment Market Association Show in Las Vegas. Rodgers' name was drawn from approximately 15,000 entries.

The $30,000 car rides on Continental ContiSportContact 3 tires (size 245/30R20) and Giovanna Wheels. Other features include an Element 114 body kit; a Gibson exhaust; a suede headliner and embroidered headrests; tinted taillights and windows; and an Eibach suspension.

The giveaway is "the perfect platform to show the automotive aftermarket that Continental Tire has arrived," says Travis Roffler, director of marketing. "We thank our partners at West Coast Customs for coming through with an absolutely spectacular project. They've taken an already exciting Lexus IS 250 and completely transformed it into a heart-stopping, one-of-a-kind ride."

CTNA is the official tire supplier for West Coast Customs and its new TLC show, "Street Customs." Under the agreement, Continental is supplying a variety of its Continental-branded ContiSportContact 3, ContiSportContact 2, and ContiCrossContact tires for the weekly vehicle builds.
