Oct. 24, 2007

Modern Tire Dealer's parent company, Bobit Business Media (BBM), has acquired Hotrod & Restoration magazine, plus an associated trade show. The purchase brings Bobit's total number of print magazines to 26. Bobit also now has 12 trade shows.

Hotrod & Restoration targets hotrod and restoration businesses, including retailers, restorers, engine builders, fabricators and machine shops.

The Hotrod & Restoration Trade Show, held annually in Indianapolis, Ind., is the largest hotrod and restoration show in the world with more than 3,000 attendees and over 200 exhibitors.

"Hotrod & Restoration will be a great addition to our automotive aftermarket media group," says BBM CEO and President Ty Bobit.

"The magazine and trade show totally complement our Precision Engine and Auto Trim & Restyling News publications, and this provides us with an established event for the automotive aftermarket."

Hotrod & Restoration's publisher, Debbie Lewis, is joining BBM.

BBM bought the Hotrod & Restoration properties from Hotrod & Performance LLC, which is based in Fullerton, Calif. Terms of the sale have not been disclosed.
