Mannino leaves Pirelli, Pace will assume duties

Oct. 5, 2007

Pirelli Tire North America (PTNA) says Gaetano "Guy" Mannino, its president, has left the company "to pursue other professional interests." PTNA Chairman and CEO Hugh Pace "will assume leadership for all business and commercial operations in addition to his current executive role."

Mannino began his career with Pirelli in 1982. In 1993, he joined the company's tire division and held management positions in Italy, Venezuela and the United States. In 2002, he was named CEO and president of PTNA.

Under Mannino's leadership, PTNA relocated its corporate headquarters to Rome, Ga.; built its robotized Modular Integrated Robotized System (MIRS) manufacturing plant there; and expanded PTNA's national distribition network.

"PTNA extends its gratitude to Guy for his many contributions to the company."

Pace became chairman and CEO of PTNA this past June. Prior to that, he was with Smithers Rapra Technology. Pace began his career with Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in sales and marketing. He then progressed to several senior executive posts, including the presidencies of the Asia Pacific Region, Mexico and Argentina.
