Hankook plans to raise tire prices on Oct. 1

Sept. 8, 2007

Hankook Tire America Corp. will raise prices by up to 4% on its full line of passenger, high performance and light truck tires. The amount of the increase will vary by product line and/or size.

The increases will take effect October 1st, 2007.

The price increases "reflect rising costs in raw materials as well as higher costs in transportation and general operating expenses," according to Hankook.

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. (up to 4%), Toyo Tire (U.S.A.) Corp. (3.5%) and Continental Tire North America Inc. (up to 6%) also will raise consumer tire prices on Oct. 1.
