Nexen says new sign in Chicago will boost awareness

Aug. 30, 2007

Nexen Tire America Inc. officials say a new sign on the side of a landmark tire dealership in downtown Chicago will raise the South Korea-based company's profile in "The Windy City."

The Nexen name and logo are sharing the sign with Cassidy Tire & Service on the side of Cassidy's main building, which is eight blocks away from Sears Tower. (Cassidy Tire, which has 15 stores, is marking its 93rd year in business.)

Nexen rents two floors of the historic building from Cassidy Tire for its new Midwest distribution center.

"The Chicago L train and Metro lines are next to the building," say Nexen officials. "Twice a day and five days a week, 30,000 to 50,000 people who use the trains will see the updated sign."
